Purpose & setup

Move forward for a short ball and recover for depth in a controlled three-player pattern.

A starts behind the near baseline, B near the far service line on the left and C behind the far-right baseline. Use one ball. B supplies short balls; C supplies deep balls.

How to play

  1. B feeds softly to the near service-line area. A moves forward, lets it bounce and sends a controlled shot deep to C.
  2. C returns a high, gentle ball deep into the near singles court. A turns and recovers in time for one bounce, then sends the next shot gently to B.
  3. B volleys or one-bounce feeds short again. Continue only while A can move in balance; a miss or rushed chase ends the sequence.
  4. After three sequences rotate A → B, B → C, C → A. Finish the current sequence at time; allow rest between sequences.

Scoring or success

Count full short–deep cycles completed in control. Aim for two per sequence; stop at four even if successful, then rest for 20 seconds.

Rotation & roles

Three sequences per moving player, with a maximum four cycles each. The two feeders stay in their separate positions until the dead-ball rotation.

Make it easier

B and C stop and catch after A’s shots, then feed the next ball only when A is ready.

Add a challenge

Narrow A’s target to each feeder while retaining the same generous feed height.

Mixed levels

Set the short/deep distance to A’s mobility and use catch-and-feed pauses whenever needed.

Safety & spacing

A turns to move back instead of running backwards. Feeders leave generous time and stop immediately if A is rushed or either feeder would need to cross the other’s space.
