Purpose & setup

Give the solo player a wide target and share the work at the other end.

A is alone behind the near baseline. B and C share the far baseline, one on each half. Everyone is active; use one ball.

How to play

  1. A drop-feeds to B or C. The pair must hit into A’s singles court; A may hit anywhere inside the pair’s doubles court.
  2. Play after one bounce. B and C call the ball so only one hits each return.
  3. A net ball, out ball or second bounce ends the point. A feeds the next point.
  4. After four points rotate roles A → B’s position, B → C’s position, C → solo. End after the current point at time.

Scoring or success

One point to the side winning each rally. Reset the round score after four points; compare each player’s solo rounds. Custom rules.

Rotation & roles

Rotate every four points regardless of score. All three play; nobody waits. Complete a dead-ball rotation before restarting.

Make it easier

Move closer and use a slower, comfortable ball speed.

Add a challenge

Use a smaller target while keeping the same rotation and scoring.

Mixed levels

Use a larger target for the less experienced player and a smaller one for the stronger player.

Safety & spacing

Keep spare balls and equipment outside playing routes. Call shared balls, leave room for swings and retrieve only after the ball is dead. Use a comfortable pace and stop rather than chasing into another player or court.
