Purpose & setup

Share a gentle volley rally with two partners across the net.

A stands just inside the near service line. B and C stand just inside the far service line, one on each half. All three are active at a comfortable distance.

How to play

  1. A gently feeds to B. B volleys to A; A volleys to C; C volleys to A. Repeat this sequence without bounces.
  2. Keep feeds within easy reach. A bounce, out ball, miss or loss of the pattern ends the exchange.
  3. After three exchanges rotate A → B, B → C, C → A on a dead ball.
  4. Repeat until the block ends; complete the current exchange.

Scoring or success

Count complete B–A–C–A cycles together. Reset after a miss and keep the best cycle count.

Rotation & roles

Rotate every three exchanges even if short. All players are active; nobody rests beyond the dead-ball reset.

Make it easier

Move closer and use a slower, comfortable ball speed.

Add a challenge

Use a smaller target while keeping the same rotation and scoring.

Mixed levels

Use a larger target for the less experienced player and a smaller one for the stronger player.

Safety & spacing

Keep spare balls and equipment outside playing routes. Call shared balls, leave room for swings and retrieve only after the ball is dead. Use a comfortable pace and stop rather than chasing into another player or court.

Follow the illustrated instructions. No video has been published for this activity.
